The Leaps and Heights Graduate Award Scheme (LHGAS) was established on July 1, 2024, by the team at Leaps and Heights Services Limited, UK, as one of our social impact initiatives aimed at supporting sustainability education initiatives. Sustainability education has become critical as a forefront safeguard to reducing the impact of climate change globally. As such, the urgency to scout and develop talents as human resource catalysts to proffer solutions and build resilient organizations and economies to address climate-induced challenges has become more integral to the fight against climate change.
As institutions of higher education play a crucial role in sharing sustainability knowledge and preparing students for a climate-proof future, the need to recognize hardworking students to spur them on and encourage them to pursue sustainability-related careers, professions, and studies is the underlying motivation for LHGAS.
This scheme is geared toward strategically supporting institutions of higher education specifically in developing countries delivering sustainability-focused programmes and courses to recognize and award students for their achievements at their graduation ceremonies. This is geared toward celebrating students’ achievements, encouraging hard work and discipline as well as offering them the chance to leverage this visibility as springboards to their careers and studies choices post-graduation.
